I've been accessing Crunchyroll via Roku for some time, Roku 2 I think, without any real problems. One minor complaint: It is impossible to access a bunch of anime from the 'Alphabetical' menu, since the app apparently does not support more than 999 episodes in one listing. Also, it is incredibly inconvenient to get to something because you have to page through so many animes. One possible solution? Break Alphabetical into 4-5 different categories, Alphabetical 0-E, Alphabetical F-J Alphabetical K-O Alphabetical P-U and Alphabetical V-Z. That should limit the entries in each section to well under 999, while making it much easier to get to the anime you are looking for. Yes, I know the search function can also get you there, but if you are just paging through the older anime looking for something interesting everything after about R is inaccessible.

How do you add a show to "My shows" for quick assess?

It's quickest to do it on the web by going to the show page and click the add to queue button, or on the alpha list hover over and the button will appear, or one of the show pages, like popular, updated, etc, and again hovering over so the button appears.

The advantage to using the web is that's the only place you can organize the order of your queue (from /home/queue)

But if you only want to use the Roku itself, press the back arrow to get a pop-up menu, then you can search, or go to the anime section, scroll down to one of the stripes (popular, simulcasts, updated) then select a show, and you land on the add to queue choice.

Added shows will always go to the bottom of your queue. None of the devices have a way to reorder them after they have been added, only on the web.

I am. And this is irritating!! Just turned on my Roku and went to the Crunchy app and all I get is the error message of “Unable to connect to Crunchyroll!!!” I restarted my Roku. Checked connections, deleted the app and redownloaded it and nothing. Same stupid error message.

Try disconnecting then reconnecting your HDMI cable, both ends. Crunchyroll Roku, I believe, authenticates through the HDMI cable. If you don't have clean connections on the cable, Crunchyroll Roku does not believe you are a legitimate user.

In this particular instance two days ago though, AWS (Amazon) was the actual culprit:

Add a way to change subtitles language. For example I prefer to watch anime with sub in Spanish.

Preferred language setting link below. Beware, not all shows are available in Spanish. Some will "disappear" if they only have English subs, so you will have to switch it back at times for watching those.

Considering how slow they are to update their apps because the manga app hasn't worked right since around December am not going to hold my breath, but it seems like the Roku app needs an update. For a few months now the only way to watch a different show when one ends you have to close and then reopen the app.

Well, you can just press the back arrow button instead of completely exiting. It can take several seconds, but it does get me back to my queue.

If you are watching sequential episodes of a series and still have more to go (not on the last one), at the black screen end you can press the right directional ">" on the navigation cross instead and that will trigger the next episode to start without having to back out or exit the app.

Supposedly this has been reported to have been fixed with the Roku O/S release of 9.1.0, so you can try a manual update to see if you can get that, but Roku doesn't update everyone all at the same time, and on Roku TVs, that release won't be available until summer sometime, so I can't actually verify whether it actually works or not yet.

Ok, I'll try the back arrow the next time I finish an episode on it. I knew about being able to advance to the next episode by pressing the right directional.

hey the croll roku app speeds the video up and stops the audio if my internet isn't perfect.

i think the buffering if it exists is broken.

i have turned off/on (hard restart of roku)

deleted and re-installed app

logged out and in etc

just thought I should tell you but looks great!

My Roku Streaming Stick+ must have just received this update as my CR app now has auto-play with thumbnail countdown.
