So now I can watch on my Nexus 4 phone, Nexus 7 tablet, Acer Iconia tablet, Sony Vaio PC, Panasonic 55" television AND Sony Vita..

It's gonna take me longer to decide where to watch anime than actually watching it!

Understandable haha, I don't know to much about EU laws myself but I've never heard about the EU preventing any sort of legitimate Online products to be distributed throughout the EU unless it breaks several major EU trading laws such dodgy contracts that don't inform the users properly or breaking Copyright.

I was a bit skeptical as to say that it may be Copyright laws that would prevent the App being released in EU but as far as I'm aware the EU isn't as strict as America when it comes to Copyright (Don't take me up on this I'm likely wrong) and since Crunchyroll already has it service in the EU through its website it shouldn't effect the App since the App is only a portal to the same content servers that the website uses and doesn't store the content for long term use so I'll stick to what I said before about either Sony just being slow at publishing the App or Crunchyroll has yet to submit an EU version of the app (Possibly because they're sorting out the regional restrictions on the shows?) as they've never confirmed they have.

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with UK/European laws or even to do with PSN and Sony and everything to do with Crunchyroll themselves. Crunchyroll has always been US focused as a company, all it's back catalog deals are for US only they primarily license Anime for a US market, but IF the they can secure rights for other regions it's a secondary factor.

The Same goes with all of it's Apps. You can get Apps from Crunchyroll on Android, Apple OS, Samsung Blu-ray players/tv's, Roku Because when you publish your App on these systems/markets it's released automatically worldwide. I.e Anyone anywhere in the world can access the app itself.

Psn has a store per region to help tailor content for each country, If you want an App to appear in another country's psn you have to pay for it to appear there or publish it for each region. Depending on the App this means paying more than once or a larger fee for all territories. (also i think sony has a requirement that any app thats published in the EU has to have a multiple language option? )

But basically what it boils down to is Crunchyroll doesn't care about any market outside of the US. So don't expect it to happen.... Ever. No Ps3 App, No ps4 App, No PsVita app... I mean hey there's only higher sales for sony stuff in europe than the US, who need's the extra revenue right?

I think you're right. Maybe that's why they are so quiet over this issue. I honestly think if potential new customers in the EU and UK saw Crunchyroll on their PS3 app / TV list it could only be profitable? I'm amazed that after all this time there isn't an EU PS3 app and another distribution company have moved in first!

Edit - thanks to AnimeRanks for informing me about how to get the app with a USA account.

time to update thta android app... all of the new android phones have 1080p screens yet the app is still sd only... and chromecast... CHROMECAST

I have given up all hope that they will ever support wii u... and that's fine because chromecast is better anyways...

right now for those like me waiting for chromecast support

you can get plex on android (which chromecasts) and load the unofficial crunchyroll channel onto your media server... then you can chromecast crunchyroll in 1080p

the big downside.... it doesn't update your queue after you watch an episode that way

Minor complaint. Screen will dim while watching a video. I don't mind it touching the screen/buton etc to brighten it back up but for an app that will be used exclusively to watch shows....It will get bothersome after a while.

Yeah, I notice the screen dims after a couple minutes too. Other than that it looks absolutely gorgeous on the OLED screen. I'm watching KlK now on the Vita and it is simply amazing. The colors really pop.
