Just started watching on CR, good start. Course work at the school may get boring for him, but the social immersion will do him good.

This anime is everything I hate about going to another world type anime's. Guys who has the best girls fall for him, the best with his new world powers, and best fighter. ITS JUST PATHETIC.

- Main Character OVERPOWERED check

- Main Character has the pretty girls fall all over him check

- Main Character has the strongest powers and skills DOUBLE CHECK

Dropped

I have to admit the series has made me laugh, mostly due to Shin's reaction faces. So long as they can keep my laughing I'll keep watching even though I'm kinda over the whole isekai genre.

You know, I think I just realized my main problem with the show.

The entire purpose of having an Isekai is the "Relatable character in a strange world" premise. The world is just as important as the character itself, and while most fall within your standard generic fantasy setting, most series do an okay enough job at the world building to make it fun. Even Death March with how uninspired it was established the world to an acceptable level.

This show hasn't done jack squat to make its world convincing so far, and neither has the manga. Literally nothing. It's like the author was just peddling recycled tropes to the lowest common denominator saying "Yeah, I don't really have any ideas for this world, so let's just work on the presumed fantasy setting and roll with it". Some of the early stuff will be fun to laugh at, but with what I know about the manga it'll wear thin real fast. Granted I didn't make it that far.

As I said in a previous post, I just laughed at this last episode. Not just at the chuunibyou shit, but at literally everything else. I personally find that the whole story is verging on unbearably cringey. It's fun enough to give it another episode or so, but knowing where it goes..... yeah, no expectations here.

Fan service goes a long way.

When I initially watched Hybrid x Heart, I thought it was like ultra shitty. However, when I gave the uncensored version a try, it made me realize that at the very least, it was pleasantly erotic.

Yes, it's generic as hell and the MC is by far the least interesting character in the entire show (including the hired mansion staff who got all of 3 seconds to flash their name-plates). But I don't hate it. Between Maria hamming things up and the prince trolling Shin every chance he gets, there's some fun to be hand in between all the aggressively generic tropes.

Again, because it really bears repeating haha.

This is the kind of show that you just turn your brain off to watch, don't take it seriously and it'll be mildly fun. The whole story can be summarized as "Boy reincarnates and is OP", though it does have some somewhat interesting explanations as to why he's op (but only somewhat)

If a show is at the point where the audience is expected to turn their brains off to "enjoy" it, the show has failed to engage it's audience on any level that wouldn't be better served meditating while staring at a blank white wall.

Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind.

quite a few issues I have with this show: the low budget animation at some points like while he's shopping in the first episode
the uninteresting characters that act so prudish I cringe
how Shin looks at the camera at the start of episode 2 is really annoying
the generic aspects of not adding anything new to set it apart from other Isekai
the uninteresting world that doesn't get explored hardly at all
the lack of any kind of plot to drive the story
the lack of fanservice to keep my attention

and yet despite all its flaws I can still enjoy it a bit which just goes to show why the standard Isekai tropes get repeated so often

You have a point. I do somewhat enjoy watching it. However, I'll tell you that I genuinely enjoy a lot of non-isekai fantasy harems, while this I just enjoy to pass time. The reason being that the genuine fantasy ones actually tend to have an interesting plot and decently developed characters even though the character interactions end up being a bit cliche. Like I've watched Bladedance of the Elementelers and Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut and even Dragonar Academy through a few times. To the untrained eye they may seem like trash, but they actually have engaging stories, and what's even better, actual villains.

With shows like this, Death March, and Smartphone, it ends up really just being a collection of a normal guy being praised by idiots because he's just naturally smarter than them. It's literally just putting a big fish into a small pond and watching the reactions of the small fish. And it hurts to watch that because the show tries to make it seem like its something special, when really its just sad.

Only thing this show is missing is a harem with the MC, but i would not be surprised if it was coming later. Still enjoyed the show and will continue watching

Well that was all a bit stupid...

but somehow it seemed like it was deliberately stupid so maybe they'll pull something off next episode

Surprisingly it doesn't happen. Plenty of Cute guys and girls and they all kind of end up paired off with each other.

I kinda got that vibe which is why I didn't eye-roll drop it. Looking forward to seeing the budding awkward romances.

Episode 3

Shin is starting his own study group rather than joining an existing one as Shin has drawn quite a following. As such, a club that's all about mastering a wide variety of magic has been started. Just when things were going good, in comes Strom turning Kurt into a demonoid. In the end, Shin reluctantly killed Kurt as while he tried his best not to, it was either him or the academy. That ending there, while Shin may be strong he hasn't faced adversity quite like this.
