Cinderella Nine EP # 2 Can or Can't

Wow this just so good just the detail aspect of BB is really in depth / and the club has to really strart from nothing / great character building and support from adults

I messed up the OP song last week s/b "Etub de" by Miyuhan

Ending Theme:
"Donna toki mo" by Nozomi Nishida (Tsubasa ) Reina Kondo (Ryo Shinonome ) Saki Minami (Yuki Nozaki ) and Honoka Inoue ( Tomoe Kawakita )

IDK if this is the junior team with Suzuki 's brother before HS ? With Tsubasa ? If so she aint letting anybody know she is talented already A good ??

It's cute and has sports so I might be able to keep watching this one. The quality has been pretty low though and the color changing glove was a bit obvious.

Ep 2

Nothing quite like pulling weeds with the girls to build team cohesion. I had actually figured that Suzuki was going to join the team as a manager rather than play since she seemed so knowledgable about the game but opposed to actually playing it. Oh well, the more the merrier.

I always enjoy the little bits of knowledge that club shows like these provide. I didn't know that there was a method for shaping a baseball glove to fit better and that there are actual products meant solely for doing so. I had kinda just figured you buy one that feels good and that's it. I love learning that sort of stuff.

I quite enjoy the show. Usually sport-themed animation will focus on the game itself, but they mention things about maintaining equipment.

Just spotted a careless mistake:

Suzuki's glove should be navy blue.

Despite this show being nothing special, and doing nothing really noteworthy for a sports anime, I like the more chill atmosphere to it, as opposed to the hyper nature, and super tense and serious feel to a lot of other sports anime. Of course, that's just me generalising, and I even like a couple of those kinds of sports anime. That said, I just like the characters. I like the main genki girl. I like that it doesn't seem like it will be too serious, and that it feels like a chill anime I could just wind down and, well... chill with. Not expecting a masterpiece, but I think I'll still enjoy it a good deal.

Ah, yes. The sticker shock reactions by Yuki and Akane was funny and totally realistic. Anyone who has played the sport knows the top-brand stuff costs hundreds. I had two custom-made Mizuno gloves with my name stitched in, back in high school that totaled 500 altogether (still in great condition!). Add in bats and other stuff and…yeah, baseball is expensive.

The scene with the girls learning how to break in a glove made me laugh as I thought about the debates I had with friends over which method was best; mallet or the old-school glove under the pillow. I was always in favor of the latter, but still, it takes work to wear in a glove either way. Loved that little detail they put in.

Then there’s Waka’s story… and not to sound too dramatic, but it kind of hit home for me. Waka losing confidence in her ability to play and having her dreams shattered, was REALLY real for me. I think a lot of kids growing up had to painfully experience that. And then the coping that comes after and the lingering wearyness to avoid the sport. Been there, done that. I think the show does try to convey that sentiment but it just doesn’t come across as heavy as other sports anime. Akane’s fresh enthusiasm is the revelation needed for those like Waka that have always loved the sport, to ignite that passion for it again; even if it’s to casual play or to invest in being a fan. And that’s why I toss all my money to watch the Dodgers these days.

I’m seeing this series in an emotional/nostalgic lens where everything on this show reminds me of something I once experienced myself. It’s a really cool to have shows understand and connect with you through these fictional characters. It’s one of the reasons I loved the first season of Gurazeni: Money Pitch. It was like having a conversation about the culture of the game with a friend named Bonda Haha. Rambled long enough, but basically loving this series so far.

Girls + baseball. This anime is right up my alley. So far, it looks good. I'm hoping that they don't put in the obligatory male love interest that becomes a secondary story plot.
That said, if this anime becomes a success, I hope that my current favorite girls+baseball manga "Tamayomi" (running in MangaTime Kirara Forward) gets the anime treatment.

I am confused on the ending was that Shinonome crying, mad or jealous? What did Arihara say to her that wasn't shown? I know she wants to keep playing like the globenstuff said. Shinonome later reaction doesn't fit with just that answer (when she is walking down the hallway). There has to be more of an answer.

Ep 3

Cheer girl might end up being my favorite if she gets enough screen time. She and Aoi have vague reasons for joining the baseball team at the moment but I'm sure we'll come to understand what drives them better in the future.

It's easy to forget just how talented Tsubasa is. I think the batting cages are the first time she's shown what she's really capable of. Mad respect to her for stringing together a team of novices and making baseball fun for them when she could totally go down the same road that Shinonome did. There is clearly a lot more to both of the girls' pasts than just the game they played together. Excited to figure out more about what's going on between them.

Episode 4

Arihara has adopted Yogi Berra's rallying cry as she helped rally the team back from a five run deficit to win their game against Shinonome's team. But ever since then she decided to quit baseball because she wouldn't be able to play with her teammates anymore until Tomocchi convinced her to play again. Seeing that she went to a school without a baseball team that it is the perfect opportunity to build one from scratch the way she wants it. And as for Shinonome, she was hellbent on making it to the pros that she brushed aside everything else, but that was a huge mistake on her part, and she finally realized it when Arihara and friends were supporting her, but didn't make the cut. So in the end, she joins Arihara's team as the final player. That just goes to show how much of a world of difference there is between Arihara and Shinonome with the only thing in common being that they are both great baseball players, and certainly being part of this team is what Shinonome needed as being a team player is the one thing she lacks.

Can't believe Shinonome's team blew a 5-0 lead. Finally got 9 and it's game time next episode. It would've been funny if Shinonome said "Oh that club is boys only", when they asked her if she passed the try outs. That would bring the question on why the coaches let her try out, but it would've been funny. Hopefully there won't be so much QUALITY moving on, but I doubt it. Still having fun.
