Well, it aired almost an hour and a half ago and I see none of the usual suspects has picked it up yet.

The Spring anime season seems to be very weak in the mid-week

I guess we will see if this will be late pickup or the usual suspects need to wait until the airing in other TV channel next Monday like what happened with Gunma short anime last year in which CR need to wait until Saturday for its simulcast which is when the anime was aired in other TV channel despite the main TV channel airings was every Mondays.

And it was just announced for Crunchyroll. This is going to be Monday broadcast in accordance with the Tokyo MX schedule rather than the Thursday broadcast on AT-X.

Episode 1

That disclaimer was pretty funny there. Jin sure was in for a culture shock having just recently moved to Nagoya, all while Monaka has some screws loose. Pretty decent for a short there, and I'm hoping to learn more about Nagoya watching this.

Looks like we'll be hearing a lot of "nya!" from this.

This season certainly seems to be the season of the shorts.

Seems like a lot of this show's comedy is going to rely on linguistics and regional dialects. Also a bit of a role reversal from Skilled Teaser Takagi (why didn't they call it Talented Teaser Takagi??) Hopefully the relationship will be enough to carry it, because the linguistic jokes won't play well in translation

I guess you have to be fluent in Japanese to appreciate the accent jokes. Though living in an area where tourists expect everyone to be hillbillies, protag-kun's attitude is pretty off-putting.

I have yet to figure out why the cat and Yatogame-chan ran away from the plastic bottle... or water?

Thanks! I guess in Yatogame-chan's case, they just want to show her "cat-racteristic"?

Or maybe a native speaker. I don't know much about regional accents compared to 'standard' Tokyo-ben. And 'fake' Osaka-ben from anime :P

This type of regional show is interesting. Apparently there's 'yaa' sounds enough in Nagoya-ben to have the accent characterized as 'sounding like a cat', which is probably where the running gag of Yatogame being a cat comes from. And the disclaimer at the beginning :P

From Wikipedia:

Nagoya dialect is well known for possessing monophthongs where vowel sequences are found in Standard: [ai] and [ae] become [æː] ([eː] or [aː] in some areas), [oi] becomes [øː] or [öː], and [ui] becomes [yː] or [üː]; in recent years, their use has significantly declined among young people.

[æː] is very famous as a characteristic of the Nagoya dialect; it is widely imitated as a stereotype of Nagoya speakers and often becomes a target of jokes such as "Nagoya people speak like a cat" (a play on words with [mæː] or [næː] and "meow"). Japanese comedian Tamori once joked about Nagoya dialect such as ebifuryaa (incorrect Nagoya form of ebifurai or "fried prawn") and made Nagoya people angry, but restaurateurs in Nagoya took advantage of the joke and ebifurai became one of Nagoya's specialty foods.[3]

Episode 2

Yatogame can tell that Jin isn't from Nagoya because Nagoyans don't drink bottled water. And he's in for quite a surprise when the regular sized Shiro-Noir is much bigger than he expected.Jin sure has a lot to learn about living in Nagoya.
