Ever since the last video store in my country shut down I can't rent out games before I buy them so I'm just going to ask if anyone has any ideas for fun games that I could add to my collection.

Thus far out of the games I own that I enjoy I have Skyrim,Tales of Zestiria,Tales of Berseria,Star Ocean: Faithlessness and Integrity,Doom,Secret of Mana,Axiom Verge,Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 Remix and God Eater 1 and 2.
I also have my eyes on Horizon Zero Dawn, but I would rather get the Complete edition so that's taking a little time.

As you can probably tell I like RPGs,not entirely a fan of shooters but there are some exceptions.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to make the obvious recommendations of Persona 5 and Dragon Age Inquisition. I've heard good things about Witcher 3 as well, though I haven't yet played it.

If you're willing to make the jump to pc and/or ps3, there's also the Trails games (Trails in the Sky 1-3, Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2, with 3's english localization on the ps4 in the works.)

I'll give Persona 5 a look, I already have Dragon Age Inquisition on the Xbox 360.
I've only played Witcher 2.
What of Persona 5: Dancing in the Skylight?

As for PC and Ps3, PC will have to wait until I buy my new computer (I'm saving for that right now) and PS3 is out of the question, I have too many consoles lying around to add another one.
I also had my eyes on Nioh and Fate/Extella but I haven't found anyone who had any opinions on those two yet save for people saying Nioh is a lot like Bloodborne and Dark Souls.

It's just a rhythm game. I wouldn't bother unless you're into those, and/or REALLY like the characters from persona 5.

For the Trails in the Sky games, it doesn't need to be a gaming pc, they're not exactly cutting edge in terms of graphics and such, but that also means it doesn't take much in the way of hardware to play them. The first two Trails of Cold Steel games came out on the ps3 (and since them ported to the pc), with the newest (third) game coming out on the ps4, so they're more demanding. I would suggest just playing the Sky games for now and holding off on Cold Steel.

I don't know much more about Nioh then you do. Extella I haven't actually played yet, but I know a fair bit about due to being something of a fanatic for the franchise. I do, for example, know is actually a sequel of sorts to another game called Fate/Extra. So it may require some research to fully understand the story (not terribly unusual for any entries in the Fate franchise) I would suggest that you first dive into some of the other entries to the franchise before Extella. Though judging from your avatar, there's a good chance you already have.

Another recommendation; Ace Combat 7 just came out. And if you buy it quickly enough, the ps4 version comes with a port of AC5.

Fair enough.
Definitely not interested.

It's not about whether or not my PC is a gaming PC,it's just that it's a laggy sack of shit with not much hard drive space left.
My previous hard drive died not long ago so I'm making do with an old spare I had lying around that I reformatted so it's pretty tiny after all the stupid windows updates.
I'm really only looking for PS4 games right now.
When I get my new PC I intend on doing a little steam gaming and VNs.
Baby steps first though.
Get the computer then consider PC gaming.

Ah I see you too are a man of culture.

Unfortunately diving into the entries before Extella will be impossible.
Those games never made it to New Zealand.
That being said, there is one PAL version of Fate/Extra,but I don't own a PSP (People are trying to sell them for $300 over here) and the game itself is $230.
I've pretty much given up on immersing myself into the Nasuverse save for the anime and the original VN's (But shhh don't tell anyone I said that I'd play the VN's )

Sadly I'm going to have to give that one a miss.
I'm not terribly interested in aircraft or army related things.
Although I will give Persona and The Witcher a shot first.
Well, provided I can find them for a reasonable price.

The best PS4 games in my opinion are:

Horizon Zero Dawn (this is my favorite PS4 game)
Uncharted 4 (You can also get the Nathan Drake Collection which is a remaster of the first 3)
God of War
The Last of Us Remastered
Inside (very short, and kind of cryptic, but IMO very good)

other good games

Tomb Raider Remastered
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Ratchet and Clank
Oxenfree (this one is kind of between an old style adventure game and a Tell Tale style adventure, make sure you play it at least twice in a row, because the story is slightly different on successive replays)
Tales From the Borderlands (this is a Tell Tale style adventure game, which means mostly just story, but it is good)
Rime (this one is IMO a rather underrated game. It is an adventure game, in the style of the old Myst games, but with a fully 3D environment instead of FMV and pictures, it has a good story too)
South Park The Stick of Truth (very funny turn based RPG game)
Batman Arkham Series Remastered (I heard the remaster is not the best, but Arkham City was in my top 5 games for PS3)

You could probably make do with youtube videos or summaries online. I could give you an overview if I needed to, but you'd likely be better off finding a summary intended specifically for Extella players.

To be fair, reading the VNs is a lot more then many fans bother with.

I like Horizon Zero Dawn tonnes too.
It's probably my favorite ps4 game thus far.
It's also unfortunately the cause for not being able to enjoy slower paced games as much as I used to.
I do own The Last of Us remastered, pretty fun for a stealth action game, but not exactly a game I feel like playing frequently, and some of the choices the main character makes tick me off a lot.

As for the rest,I'll do a little research on them when I have time.
With the exception of the South Park game.
I really hate South Park.

Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night are two of my top 10 favorite shows, behind Elfen Lied and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
But Eroge VNs are indeed illusive, but partaking of Tsukihime and Fate/Stay as Type-Moon intended is worth the hassle imho.
It's my policy to always go after source material when possible.
And also partly responsible for my desire to find the origins of anime.

Cheers for that.
It looks pretty cool.
How fluid is the action?
Are the controls as responsive as they look in the gif?

It's also pretty funny.
I was doing some research on it and it seems that I've been playing the franchise from the get go.
I own Drakengard and the first Nier.

The controls are super responsive and the gameplay is very unique. Its a cross between open world JRPG and bullethell shooter. I was blown away by how amazing the gameplay was. You also get a trophy for being a pervy otaku!

Well managed to get Persona 5.
But I have a question regarding disc based DLC.
Seeing as though the PS4 is region free when it comes to games, if I bought Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for example, would I be able to install the DLC if it was a region 2 copy when my region is 4?

Hard to give you games to play when you I don't play rpgs much to help with what you like. But as for adventure games, I have a few you might enjoy. Though everyone has their mixed reviews about them; Here they lie, kholat, outlast, and infamous: second son. I honestly play more co-op or rhythm games, so this is the best I have for you.~

Do you mean I don't play RPGs or you don't play rpgs?
You kinda typed it out too fast there.
If it's the former, then I particularly only play RPGs if I can help it.
If it's the latter, then fair enough.
