Autoplay freezing on Roku+

This started a few days ago, where after an episode finished, rather than go to the next episode in a season, the screen would go black and stay there until I hit the back button on the roku remote. Likewise, if it was the most current episode, instead of going to back to the episode selection screen when it ended, it would freeze on a blank screen. This only occurs on my Roku+ with the Crunchyroll app.

I have tried deleting/reinstalling CR on roku, as well as removing/adding access from the permission screen. I am at a loss as to how to stop this bug.

This doesn't actually fix it, but instead of pressing the back button, press the right arrow on the navigation cross. Doing that will start the next episode.

Thanks for the tip @asharka. Hopefully the Roku app will be updated again soon and autoplay will either be enabled by default or as an option in the settings.

It doesn't work, still stuck at a black screen. And pushing the left directional while it's black doesn't shift the episode to an earlier part either.

I've been having this issue the last few days on two different Roku streaming sticks. It's been driving me crazy figuring out what's wrong.

Me too. Auto play doesn’t work. One episode finishes and the screen just goes to black and freezes there. I’m on a Roku 4

I have the same problem.
I have a Roku 3 and decided to find the Crunchyroll app version to see if it was due to an update
Well, it appears Crunchyroll on Roku 3 is Version 3.0 dated December 8, 2015
I suspect a recent Roku software update slightly broke Crunchyroll and they have not done an update yet. I wish they would visit the forum and at least let us know if they are aware of the problem.
By the way, you can view the app version on Roku by going to the Channel Store and finding the app in question. Version is listed below the icon when you go to the screen to add, remove or rate the app.
At least we are not having worse problems (like the freezing when watching), like some people

I'm using a roku premiere+ 4k and roku stick. both get stuck after playing an episode, nothing on the remote works besides the home button

Actually, my right arrow on the remote (not the fast forward button), does work to advance to the next episode after the previous one is completely done including all credits. Strange it works with some and not others, Roku software might be slightly different for different devices.
Incidentally, until yesterday I wasn't getting any images with fast forward or reverse. That seems to work now.

i will have to check when i get home. i did find the right button also works on both of my devices, unless its the end of available episodes in which the app just locks up.

I'm having the same problem with autoplay on my Roku Ultra. It started after the latest Roku software update. I contacted Tech support a week ago, but haven't heard back yet.

I started having this issue worth my roku as well. Started off with just freezing on a black screen after the latest ep. Today now it started doing the same thing when watching a whole series. Really hope they fix this soon.

I have the same problem. It's really annoying and they really need to update the version of all the roku devices. I know is tedious but you can't left the app like it is in this moment

I'm having the same problem. I thought it was my old Roku express so i bought a new Roku stick+ and it didn't help at all and now the app isn't working now so i hope CR fixes there sh
