Like the second and third one, is a first one supposed to look bland?

Then again I doubt I can even draw a perfect circle, so what do I know.

Thanks!

The character in the first one usually wears pretty plain clothing.

Good start, it looks like you are trying some different poses which is always a good thing to play around with.

you have probably looked into more reference materiel at this point, where I only really had to go by trial and error. Constantly drawing until I visually see improvements. Some people worked to be an artist in their early teens, 14 or younger, I started when I was like about 21 to draw my own characters. When I was like 18 and 19 I traced some anime characters, but I never learned anything. Im only getting better as I keep drawing Thats all it takes.

almost 4 years ago, its very cringy to me now, but it just goes to show how far i have come

No these are all so good though! You're getting a feeling for proportion and i can just barely see the guidelines for the joints and that's so good to use and it will only get better the more you keep going!

The second is nice. The first is very nice, and so is the last one. I really like the smiles, as well. Well done, congratulations on the efforts you have put and on the good drawings, made as a result.

The third seems the best. I would suggest you read "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" I am not sure it will help in drawing images coming straight from your imagination, but it will help immensely rendering images you can look at. Here's a tip from chapter one, place the image upside down then copy it. You will be impressed. By the third chapter, you will draw well. My business partner saw some of my practice drawings and was impressed, so I lent him my book. His daughter saw him drawing and wanted to learn to draw also, so she read the book. She later became the fashion designer Shani. Her stuff is sold in upper end malls and from time to time was on Home Shopping Network. So, it is a good book.

Another thought. I don't know what your resources are, but if you have a touch tablet, maybe you should look into computer drawing. Especially programs that have layers. I noticed that you did a fair amount of erasing. With layers, you can work on just one piece of the image and if you screw up, just erase the layer, leaving the remainder of the image unscathed. Some have features to help you animate your images, drawing the in-between images automatically. I used Corel Draw, not so much for drawing but for making brochures and ads and such. Couldn't afford the Adobe stuff. I see there are now a variety of free apps. Krita and Artweaver Free look good as they support layers. Another plus, if you draw in vector mode, you can infinitly expand your image. So, if you were designing a logo, you could shrink it to fit on a business card or blow it up to cover a wall. They basically have infinite resolution. Promised myself when I retire next year to get myself a tablet computer and draw for pleasure again.

I drew a ton of artwork for Destiny Ninja 2, including on OC (the one with the wings)!

I also drew Aoi from Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits

and Matin from the Epic of Zektbach

I think their all great and your style of how you drew them makes me happy. Also the ones where two are embracing makes me sad but a happy kind of sad.

Well done, they are good. I like the high quality and I appreciate the efforts you put to it.
Most of them are very beautiful and have wonderful positive smiles.
