Why did they remove several options that were in the old player? I don't like this trend of removing options because the web developer believes his way is the best way and nobody should have a choice but his.
I really liked setting the video quality, and disabling autoplay next video. I don't want to have to reload every page to read the comments, because the site already skipped to the next video. Many shows have content showing til the very last second, so you can't pause it to prevent the autoplay, without risking seeing something in the comments that you haven't watched yet.

The new player works fine for me once I got my computer up to speed . Maybe its not the player.

For what it's worth, I got my PC in 2011, it's still running Windows 7, and the new player has worked fine for me from the beginning without me having to do anything. Actually I guess I've been using a form of it all year, since I watch most CR content on VRV and the player there is about the same (same design, same current lack of features).

...I guess that wasn't worth anything, but I wanted to say it anyway

My computer is about the same vintage. On a wired connection everything was fine, 115mps, but on 2ghz wifi all I got was 40mps. After I put a 5ghz dongle on it I was back to 115mps on wifi. A real cheap $25.00 upgrade that made all the difference in the world.

Yes oh god lord yes! Let the quality setting stay the same between episodes

It would also be nice if it didn't pop out of fullscreen when changing episode

Yes do this, but please don't do this until you've made "turn off autoplay" an option. Right now the exiting fullscreen lets me click out before the next episode starts.

I still can't play anything. Nothing loads up no matter how many times I clear cookies and refresh, or close out and come back in. It's really frustrating. Someone said something about having to disable your adblocker to get it to show up which seems pretty shady to me, but I tried it anyway and still nothing.

Any other ideas?

I've been having to use Firefox for the past few days since I'm one of the people that actually seems to like autoplay, and they seem to have disabled autoplay on Chrome. Still exits fullscreen though. /shrug

I have never posted on this site before because i have never had an issue. I have been a member for a very long time. I like to fall asleep watching anime and usually play one episode. I can not do this. It will continue to play. I understand sometimes changes are needed. I also understand it may take time for features to come back if ever. But I have not been using crunchyroll for this reason and it feels like a waste. I wanted to ask if this is something i may see soon.

You guys should look at Anime Labs player, it is a million times better than this one. As an Aussie my internet is pretty terrible, on sites like Netflix, youtube and Anime Lab I don't have any issues but on CR it's sometimes completely unusable.

When it buffers I can't pause it or access any controls, there is no skip intro function, when it swaps between resolutions it seems to want to buffer again and it's just not a smooth transition at all. It also won't buffer much so I can't just let it load in the back ground to watch later which really sucks.

From what is probably the biggest anime streaming service I really expect a better quality player than what you have and I am not sure how anyone at CR thought that this one would be acceptable.

When using the old player re-watch a series, on autoplay of the next episode it would start at the beginning. With the new player, if you had skipped watching the end credits, re-watching on autoplay causes it to go to the part you had skipped.

Do you use a VPN? I had to disable my VPN's adware blocker to get the new player to work.

This fucking player is trash for the people that don't have very fast internet and I don't use the extension player because it doesn't track progress. Please do something about the buffering.

I've also been having issues with the player recently, specifically when playing on Chrome. The video keeps stuttering/begin choppy and I've tried everything I could on my end to fix it. I have all my programs and browsers updated, cleared my browsing history, and uninstall/reinstalled Chrome, but none of those have worked out so far.

Is this CR issue or is this something on end? If anyone has an answer, I'd gladly welcome it.

P.S. I have very fast internet at home and have not had this issue until last week.

The new player seems to be terrible. No English subtitles for Naruto and a few other anime. English is not even an option to choose for these. Please fix ASAP!

Maybe also get some feedback before removing options. Like those from the old player. Dev's don't always know best, don't blindly make changes based on what they say only.

Hopefully this is fixed quick, or I'll be signing my posts as: "A 'former' CrunchyRoll premium subscriber"!

Right now I get the video with English subtitles for Naruto, but it does not appear to work reliably / being buggy.
But let’s be honest, it wasn’t great before. With the old player you only got the video with embedded English subtitles when you set the crunchyroll website completely to English. I watched the first episodes with German subtitles, because I did not know that crunchyroll even had English subtitles for Naruto.

I’d like to see overlayed English subtitles for all animes and the embedded ones thrown out.
