A little later in the series, for example 206 (the problem occurs much earlier than this but this is just the episode I am on right now) doesn't have any subs built in. But when I play it on my phone the subs seem to be built in. Is it an issue with my computer?

yeah, no option for the hardcoded english subs with firefox. an addon called "Crunchyroll HTML5 Unofficial" works, but i can't fullscreen or interact with the player at all. is this even a priority for them to fix missing subtitles or something? why are people resorting to unofficial addons?

This is a problem for One Piece subs as well.

Is there any ETA on a fix for this?

Seems to be working fine with the crunchyroll app from microsoft store. Just set the language in settings to English(US). Same issue with chrome for me, but seems like the app fixed it

I'm not exactly sure what is happening, but i was drawn to this thread because i have the same issue, and i discovered that there's still built in subtitling on mobile.

Add the extension from 4-5 posts up above yours.

I found a fix for the no english subtitles problem! You need to download a new video player from google chrome app store called HTML 5 player for crunchy roll. The new player looks a lot like youtube's player which can be both a pro and a con depending on your preferences but it will also give you the option to choose english subtitles.

After downloading the chrome addon from google chrome app store enter Crunchy roll as usual and so on. Change the subtitles through the cog icon bottom right of the player and choose english subtitles (for me two additional choices for sub appeared, unknown (XXXXXXXX) and unknown (XXXXXXXX) one of these are english subtitles).

NOTE that I've only tested this fix on my own macbook and can't assure you it will work for you depending on different circumstances.
