Nice to find this thread and know that this is the error on Crunchyroll's part.

I sincerely hope they fix this soon. I'm using Safari (Mojave).

This is just nonsense. This is a major issue, and one that has been ongoing for months.

Can we at least get an update on weather this is a site or browser issue?

I watched up to episode 69 on Chrome without issues. Decided I wanted to watch a couple episodes and they were in German for some reason. Tried just skipping ahead an episode and it was having the same problems. Went back 2 episodes to one I had no issues with yesterday, German! Tried Chrome and Firefox, same issue. Super annoying.

Does anyone know if there is a way to open a support ticket?

There are a couple of different versions of the one piece seasons, if one is playing in a different language, try the other version for that season. I had this same problem with one piece before and this seemed to work.

using that Chrome plugin worked for me. Had to switch to the 2nd "unknown" entry. Before that I tried Firefox, Opera, and Chrome (without plugin) with all defaulting to Portuguese.

I have messaged Customer Service about it 2 days ago, tonight they very kindly messaged me to let me know they were looking at it, as a premium member since basically the start of the service and a first year sign up, they tend to listen to me when I bring something up. I've been told they're looking into as I type this. I also sent them this thread so they know it's a bigger problem then just me.

For the many different device apps, you need to make sure your language is set to English US (Not UK or anything else...)

That is done here for some of the apps: /acct/?action=video and in the in-app settings for others. It depends on which manufacturer's hardware you are using.

I ended up using the chrome plug in and it works now

Okay i found an actual fix for this! Download some html5 crunchyroll extension on firefox addons or chrome web store! On the subtitles thing it should have 2 unknown subtitles and if the other one doesnt work try the other one!!!
